South Side Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is seeking an
Organist/Choir Director to begin November 1, 2010. If interested send

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

Job Description
|
|
|
|
1.The Director shall select the hymns and anthems for worship services.
|
|
2.Shall be the director of adult choir and attend all practices.
|
|
3.Shall select special music in absence of the choir.
|
|
4.Should have music for Sunday bulletins turned in to the office by Thursday a.m.
|
|
5.Should practice and prepare music to be used.
|
6.Should co-ordinate music of congregation through:
Choirs
Special Services
Worship
Theology co-ordination with ministers
Liturgical themes
|
|
7.The Director should make arrangements to have pianos and organs tuned and repaired.
|
|
8.Shall attend staff meetings.
|
|
9.Shall minister to the congregation through the music.
|
|
10.Should work with the worship committee.
|
Wish List:
It is ideal for the candidate to possess the ability to:
- work with children/youth for the formation of a Youth Choir;
- develop a handbell choir;
- work with the new pastor in the development of a blended worship service;
